Most Comprehensive, Reliable Protection from Story Drift

PORTSMOUTH, NH, February 2, 2007 - AnvilStar™ a division of Anvil® International, the most complete manufacturer of domestic and globally sourced products for piping systems, announces their new flexible Tri-Flex Loop® fire protection product. The Tri-Flex Loop is designed to move independently from the building, protecting fire protection systems during story drift. It is the only flexible pipe loop that simultaneously absorbs and compensates for pipe movements in six degrees of freedom (three coordinate axes, plus rotation about those axes simultaneously).

anpr17-06_lg.jpgThe Tri-Flex Loop is the safest and most reliable means of absorbing movement resulting from thermal changes and random seismic shifts, said Dean Taylor, Anvil's Vice President of Sales and Marketing. This product will give builders a much wider range of installation options, whether they are constructing new buildings or renovating existing ones.

FM approved and conforming to new international codes that meet FEMA requirements, the patented AnvilStar Tri-Flex Loop is specially designed to withstand large and irregular movements such as seismic activities. Sizes 1"- 3" are approved for up to 300 psi, with service assemblies maintaining pressure integrity up to 1,200 psi. Sizes 4"- 12" are approved for up to 175 psi and service assemblies maintain pressure integrity up to 700 psi. This creates a 4:1 safety factor for all products in the line.

The Tri-Flex Loop has a three-year warranty, includes a Seismic Wire Cable Hanger Kit for easy installation, and comes metal-tagged with the project's location. It can accommodate seismic displacements for riser fire protection piping between a building's floors, where sprinkler pipes either pass through or bridge structural seismic joints. The Tri-Flex Loop also functions as horizontal fire protection for piping that crosses seismic and expansion joints to compensate for story drift.
