image_resizeEpdm or ethylene propylene diene monomer, is a synthetic rubber product most commonly called Epdm rubber which is strong, flexible, resists decay and is used in a wide variety of materials.

Epdm was developed in the early 1960's by inventors seeking a roof covering that could withstand great temperature fluctuations.

Some of the benefits of using Epdm rubber are it has a great resistance to weather, heat, ozone, polar conditions, and steam. It has great electrical properties and is compatable with hot and cold water, ketones and hydrolic fluids.

Epdm should not be used with or around the following chemicals, gasolene, kerosene, oils, halognated solids, concentrated acids or hydrocarbons.

Some of the place you can find Epdm rubber are:

Epdm will maintain at temps up to 250 degrees and as cold as minus 45 degrees, it stands up well to impact and weathering. It comes in sheets and liquid form, the liquid will allow just about anything to be coated in Epdm.
