image_resizeMany projects in the construction industry require a sealant to be invisible. There are a lot of different brands on the market, the job at hand will dictate which clear adhesive is best for the application.

So what are the different types?

When you go shopping for your adhesive you will have a choice of epoxies, Liquid Nails, Laminate adhesives and spray on adhesives.

If you are looking to mount lightweight products such as paper a spray on clear adhesive is your best choice. This product will not winkle or bleed through the paper, you can manipulate the paper when the adhesive is first applied but once dry it will be permanent.

Laminate adhesives can be applied in many ways such as sprayed on, brushed on and even stuck on. This type of adhesive is a clear, plastic coating which is durable, resistant to extreme weather and will not cause curling over time.

On the construction site you may see the adhesive Liquid Nails. This is a permanent sealant that comes in a tube and is for heavy duty projects. It works on both indoor and outdoor projects. Liquid Nails can be used on concrete, wood, particle board, fiberglass, metal,  porcelain, ceramics, foam and plastic.

Your epoxy adhesive is two components that must be blended together before applying. This is fast drying and easy to work with since it is flexible until it drys completely. When working with epoxy you always wear gloves since ti is not water based and will stick quickly to the skin.

Remember to always read and follow the instructions and fine print on all the adhesives you ware using.
